Metaphorical Flame
Hold it high
to the heavens,
a silver
mountain icicle.
A flame
shooting upward
through a copper ring
from a frosted/ glass top
representing purity,
ice, warmth, passion.
Representing
old, ancient times
an aged silver section
connecting to its
glass top encasing copper.
Carried, passed
across the country
gripped by its
polished silver base
engraved with
"Light the fire within"
representing modern times
connecting at the
section of aged silver.
Inspiring the Olympic
spirit of peace,
passion,
competitive zeal
with the Torch's flame
flown from Greece,
reaching its destination,
Salt City's Olympic Stadium
after being passed
for many miles
by touching crowns.
